Survivor 48 Episode 3 Power Rankings
Here’s my power rankings after episode three! Here are my criteria for making power rankings: it takes into account many factors, including alliances, advantages, idols, strategic resume, position in the game, and future threat to determine a player’s current “win equity.” This doesn’t mean I think the person at the top will win, nor does it mean I believe the person at the bottom will be the next person voted out. What it means is, from now to the end of the game, who is best set up to make it there AND win. Some person may have made a lot of great moves, but in a precarious position that may drop them. Another person may be very safe, but with no real winner possibility, they’re more of a goat and also may find themselves further down the list.

On the Top
No good reason to drop Shauhin, and nobody did enough to dethrone his position. Kyle had a great episode, being the link between two potential alliances. His main issue is his number one is not included in the alliance that is probably more beneficial to him otherwise. But, he’s in the power position in Civa and has an idol. Thomas and Joe flipped based on the information they were shown receiving (or not receiving). All of Vula jumped up and solidified this middle position. They won’t be threats to the other two tribes, so they are nowhere near the bottom post-swap, but they don’t control any majority — so they can’t be at the very top. I have them bunched together, with the biggest gain being from Mary going from bottom of a disaster tribe to a likely swing vote in a swap. Mitch only went up one spot because there are still a lot of people better positioned, but his likeability and foundations he was laying at Civa beach may prove very strong come this swap. Therefore, I wanted to mention his name because he’s poised to Ricky Bobby-style slingshot to the front of this race.
On the Bottom
Chrissy I’m sorry, but I’m not Mitsky — I don’t bet on losing dogs. Zero confessionals last episode. Lowest total confessionals of the season. Haven’t seen you do anything of substance yet (besides your deep belly button). I’m sure you’re great, but I have a feeling you’re getting swap-screwed. And even if you don’t, there’s not much to have faith in. Star is still at the bottom of her tribe, and she seems bad at clicking with people right away, which is not conducive to finding footing in a swap. Bianca lost her vote and was already outside the majority. Sorry girl, should’ve practiced more Balut (Survivor and dice-game reference intended).
