Survivor 48 Episode 1 Power Rankings
Here’s my power rankings after episode one! Here are my criteria for making power rankings: it takes into account many factors, including alliances, advantages, idols, strategic resume, position in the game, and future threat to determine a player’s current “win equity.” This doesn’t mean I think the person at the top will win, nor does it mean I believe the person at the bottom will be the next person voted out. What it means is, from now to the end of the game, who is best set up to make it there AND win. Some person may have made a lot of great moves, but in a precarious position that may drop them. Another person may be very safe, but with no real winner possibility, they’re more of a goat and also may find themselves further down the list.

On the Top
Joe is in the strongest alliance on the strongest tribe. On top of that, he has what seems like the strongest individual bond with a player (Eva), who he is looking to bring into the “California Girls” alliance to make a majority four-person alliance. Thomas and Shahin round out the top three, solidifying the “California Girls” alliance, in that order due to Thomas having another relationship with Bianca on the tribe while Shahin is shown to just be in with the guys so far. From then on, I put Eva high, as she seems to be well positioned, and David seems indispensable to Civa. KEvin and Justin have the most control in Vula, and the Kyle, Chrissy, Cedrek trio seem safe on Civa as well.
On the Bottom
Charity is clearly the odd one out on Civa. Her steak choice (seriously) and her pushback on Kyle have landed her target number one if Civa were to go to tribal. I also don’t think Star is in a good place. She’s the only one who doesn’t have an alliance with at least one other person on Lagi. Sai also is near the bottom because despite finding the idol and seemingly having the majority alliance in her control, she’s clearly playing too hard. It’s going to scare some people off, and she was almost taken out this episode. On top of that, I see the Vula tribe going to tribal significantly more often than the other tribes. Playing the numbers game, it’s not good for Sai.
