Survivor 48 Episode 4 Power Rankings

Here’s my power rankings after episode four! Here are my criteria for making power rankings: it takes into account many factors, including alliances, advantages, idols, strategic resume, position in the game, and future threat to determine a player’s current “win equity.” This doesn’t mean I think the person at the top will win, nor does it mean I believe the person at the bottom will be the next person voted out. What it means is, from now to the end of the game, who is best set up to make it there AND win. Some person may have made a lot of great moves, but in a precarious position that may drop them. Another person may be very safe, but with no real winner possibility, they’re more of a goat and also may find themselves further down the list.

  1. Kyle (+1)

  2. Kamilla (+7)

  3. David (+2)

  4. Joe (-)

  5. Shauhin (-4)

  6. Mary (+2)

  7. Mitch (+3)

  8. Cedrek (-2)

  9. Sai (-2)

  10. Eva (+1)

  11. Charity (+1)

  12. Bianca (+1)

  13. Chrissy (+2)

  14. Star (-1)

On the Top

Well, let’s talk about the new king and queen of Survivor 48. Obviously, Kyle and Kamilla have the best pure strategic move of the game so far. The tough part is how to order them at the top. I admittedly was underranking Kamilla, who I’ve had bouncing up and down this list like a Yo-Yo. I couldn’t pin just how close her and Kyle were until this episode. They felt like ones, but Kyle had this other thing with David, Mitch, and possibly Charity. That’s also the reason I have Kyle ahead of Kamilla. I think he has better social inroads with former Civa and similar-to-him shields like David, Shauhin, and Joe still in the game. Kamilla has less shields and if she’s seen as a threat, she may not be able to wriggle out with individual immunity late in the game. May also earns the highest original Vula positioning at 6. This is due to her middle position in her new tribe and the fact that she can definitely coast, build social capital, and then wait to strike without seeming a threat.

On the Bottom

Star takes the bottom spot this time. Why? Not only did Eva offer her up like samples at Costco, but she was revealed to be an information leaker to Kamilla on the bench. This may rub some former Lagi (like Shauhin and Joe) the wrong way if they all make the merge. Additionally, right now, she still doesn’t have a vote and seems to struggle in the social game. Shauhin dropped four spots, and behind Joe, because he lost his one. He got duped, and his game was severely weakened in the process. We know Joe is Kyle and Kamilla’s last target, and Joe also still has his number one in Eva for now.
