Season 48 Episode 6 Power Rankings
Editor’s note: I missed a week of writing because I moved and got sick. Since my last power ranking, though, we’ve lost two of my bottom four, so not too bad.
Here’s my power rankings after episode Six! Here are my criteria for making power rankings: it takes into account many factors, including alliances, advantages, idols, strategic resume, position in the game, and future threat to determine a player’s current “win equity.” This doesn’t mean I think the person at the top will win, nor does it mean I believe the person at the bottom will be the next person voted out. What it means is, from now to the end of the game, who is best set up to make it there AND win. Some person may have made a lot of great moves, but in a precarious position that may drop them. Another person may be very safe, but with no real winner possibility, they’re more of a goat and also may find themselves further down the list.
Kyle (-)
Kamilla (-)
David (-)
Shauhin (+1)
Joe (-1)
Eva (+4)
Mary (-1)
Star (+6)
Cedrek (-1)
Mitch (-3)
Sai (-2)

On the Top
My top three holds strong through two more episodes. I’m having a really tough time ordering my top five-ish picks right now. But Kyle and Kamilla’s lowkey alliance is still really strong. I love the Civa ties that still exist as well. Kyle has also proven himself as a challenge competitor with his win in the first individual immunity of mergatory. Kyle feels more ingrained into the larger “strong and honorable” (did someone say Warrior?) alliance, so he tops Kamilla for that. David, I love his positioning and his strength. And people don’t see him as a real strategic threat at the moment, so he’s sitting safe. Eva of course jumped up, landing an idol, an awesome moment, and merging back with Joe. I flipped Shahuin and Joe because I feel like Joe and Eva, while in a great position, are on people’s radar to knock them down a peg here soon. Then of course the Star of the show! Star I thought made an excellent move giving her public idol to Eva, building bridges, and getting heat off herself. Based on the edit, she’s probably not going to win, but this isn’t Edgic. Love Star’s position right now.
On the Bottom
Chrissy, you’re giving me nothing girl. Sai is clearly hated, but she has strategic chops enough to avoid the dreaded last spot. Mitch left out of two votes in a row — and voted Sai two votes in a row, who is vindictive — and he lost his number one ally in Charity. Brutal. His likeability and challenge ability is the only thing keeping him off dead last right now. That and Sai’s own mouth.
