Survivor 48 Episode 6 OOO: Tax Write Off

Let’s address the elephant in the room. I missed a week. To all my loyal readers (addressing an empty room), I apologize. I moved and then I got sick and it was a whirlwind of a week. But we’re back and ready to dish out some Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast awards for episode six.

Alas, since I last wrote we lost Bianca and a Charitable donation was made to the islands of Fiji, just in time for tax season.

Outwit

The outwit here has to go to Star retroactively. I don’t think anyone really did anything notable in episode six, and Star continued her momentum. I thought giving the public idol to Eva was great for three reasons: one, she got the target a public idol brings off her back. Two, she builds bonds with people, specifically Eva, when she’s lacking them, which she will need if she wants to make a run in this game. Three, it was genuinely meaningful to her after Eva’s episode. Then, Star parlayed that by being emotionally there for Cedrek, slipping in well, and being the one to throw Charity’s name out, which got all the heat off her and sent Charity home. Star gets a gold star.

Outplay

Too easy. This has to be Kyle. Winning the first individual immunity challenge is a dominant Outplay move and has to be one of the best feelings in all of Survivor. Not much else has to be said here — just keep the “challenge threat” label off your back and you’re good.

Outlast

Saionia, by the grace of all that is holy you are still in the game. She’s received a vote at every single tribal council she’s been to — which has been all but one. Somehow, she’s still kicking. She might be at the bottom, but if she keeps clawing and fighting, there’s no telling what Sai can do.

Predictions

This is tough. I think it’s going to be a double tribal though. I think we lose both Sai and Chrissy in the double tribal. If it’s only one person to go, I think it’s Chrissy. Why? I think Sai is a better smokescreen than a target while the numbers are so high (think Q), and Chrissy has given so little she must go out soon. Additionally, if it’s just one person I think it might end up being a split tribal where Chrissy is simply on the wrong end of the numbers.
